Mazandaran the most prominent province of Iran in the Olympics

Mazandaran sportsmen who have always been among the most proud of Iran in the field of sports hope to get the highest Tokyo 2020 Olympic quota in the provinces of Iran as usual.

According to the Public Relations Services of the Mazandaran Sports and Youth Department, Iranian athletes succeeded in gaining a total of 60 medals for their country from the first official appearance of our country in the Olympics games. 15 gold medals, 21 silver medals and 24 bronze medals are the result of the efforts of athletes in the 16th Olympic Games. Interestingly, among the 15 athletes holding gold in these games, there are 6 Mazandaran athletes.
The important point of Mazandaran sports is that the first and last Olympic gold medal of the Islamic Republic as well as the first Olympic medal after the Islamic Revolution were obtained by the brave men of Mazandaran:
Imam Ali Habibi, a famous wrestler from Iran and the world whose name and portrayal have been registered at the Fila Federation of Fame Awards, is from Mazandaran and won the first gold medal in Iran's 1956 Melbourne Olympics in freestyle wrestling (67kg).
Hassan Yazdani, a young man and an unexpected example of the world's wrestling in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, won his first Olympic gold medal and the last caravan medal of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It is worth noting that this athlete is one of several chances of winning the Olympic gold medal in 2020.
Askari Mohammadian the man of silver from Iran and Mazandaran won a silver medal at 57kg after twelve years of vigorous effort at Olympic Games in 1988, Seoul. Mohammadian is the only Iranian athlete who has won two Olympic silver medals so far.( The second silver medal in 1992 at the Barcelona-Spain Olympic Games and 62 kg in weight).
